When we started looking for a dog to share the house with, I was thinking of a German Shepard or Labrador Retriever or some such - a DOG. My wife, meanwhile, was interested in a teacup poodle or other tiny little thing - which I referred to as a "doglet". She prevailed (actually, Scooter did all the convincing), and we incorporated "doglet" into his name. Of course, being a Belgian-French breed, the last name is pronounced "doh-GLAY".
Here's a picture of Scooter on his 1st birthday. He had quite the party - a backyard cookout with 30 human and several canine friends attending. And those nice people kept setting their plates with chicken and hamburgers down where he could reach them! Yum!!
